Enjoy the freedom to choose between sugaring, waxing with hard wax or soft wax. As your professional, I will gladly make suggestions that are best for you if you can't decide.
Have you ever tweezed a hair? Do you recall the initial time it caused some discomfort (or not)? Subsequently, each subsequent attempt became less painful or even imperceptible? Indeed, it is somewhat analogous. Pain is subjective. While waxing may not be an entirely relaxing experience, after extensively testing various professional wax brands, I can assure you that only the most exceptional, gentle, and hypoallergenic products are utilized for the most delicate skin. My clients’ comfort is of utmost importance, rivaling the heights of Mount Everest. Therefore, I can confidently assure you that it is not as unpleasant as you may anticipate or have experienced in the past.
Helpful tip: When waxing is maintained it will continue to be less painful due to thinning of the hair & mind over matter.
I firmly believe in providing a comprehensive range of waxing services to cater to the diverse needs of our clients. Humble Hare recognizes that each individual’s body and skin type requires unique waxing techniques. Therefore, we offer a variety of waxing options, including hard wax for Brazilian waxes, soft honey wax for leg waxing, hypoallergenic hard wax for face waxing, and sugaring for individuals with heat-sensitive skin.
The common factor among all hair removal methods is that they remove hair from the root. Regardless of what you may hear, no hair removal method is superior to the others. Ultimately, it all comes down to personal preference.
-Sugaring. The major difference between sugaring and waxing is it's simple ingredients comprised of water soluble sugar+water+lemon, which makes it great for most sensitive skin types. This does not mean it is better and I'll explain why when we get to hard waxing. What I do love about sugaring is its capabilities to grab the shortest of hairs, does not get hot, and is water soluble.
-Hard wax. Also great for most sensitive skin types. But not all hard wax is formulated with hypoallergenic properties like sugaring. It lightly exfoliates the skin as it is removing hair. The benefits are to gently remove most of the dead skin, aiding with ingrown hair removal, as well as promote better product penetration.
-Soft wax. Gets a bad rap for a few reasons. This is the wax we usually see in movies, social media, and most walk in nail salons. A trained and seasoned professional is highly recommended for this kind of wax choice to prevent skin removal or bruising. When used correctly, the results can be great for the thickest most stubborn of hairs as well as those with thicker dry skin. Just like hard wax there are many different formulations to choose from.
So now you understand why it's not a "One Size Fits All".
Where do I even begin with this topic? I’ll try to keep it simple. You’re already aware that no wax is created equal, and understanding the differences is crucial. The temperature, consistency, application, ingredients, and so on, vary in every single wax. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of professional and non-professional wax options available. Choosing the right one is incredibly difficult, risky, and often limited to cheap over-the-counter options. Even experienced waxers can get overwhelmed just by considering the vast array of professional options.
My question is why keep spending money on a gamble, with less-than-quality ingredients and less-than-quality results?
NO!
Never a good idea to do anything like waxing or a facial service just before a special occasion or trip. What if you have an adverse reaction, irritation, skin lifting or bruising? When trying something new, it is best practice to start several months in advance in order to see how your skin responds. If it has been several month since your last wax, it is still a good idea to get back in the routine several months beforehand.
Helpful Tip: Maintaining, the recommended 4-6 week, wax services yields best results.
This is not possible. Waxing removes the entire hair from the root causing trauma to the root. When the hair begins to grow, the root is much smaller, resulting in thinner hair growth...Not thicker. That is why hair becomes very sparse when waxing is maintained as recommended by your professional. When you go past the recommended return time the root will grow back to its original size causing you to start from square one.
Tidbit: Vitamins, fish oil, caster oil, prenatals, pregnancy, menopause, perimenopause, hirsutism, genetics, etc can make hair healthy and thick. Waxing may not change that, but it can help keep the hair away for up to 3-4 weeks. Where as the average is 4-6 weeks.
Another myth! It's quite the opposite. Have you noticed that when you start working out more or when spring starts to become summer that it seems your last wax didn't last as long? You probably have noticed, but didn't realize the real reason why. Did you know that sweat can stimulate hair growth? Well, I take that back!!! To get a little deeper, it may not be the sweating that causes the hair to grow quicker but the increase of blood flow that is usually accompanied with sweating. Healthy blood flow is a very good thing though. It keeps us looking younger. This is due to the nutrients that spread through the skin including antioxidants through blood flow. In turn, it contributes to healthy hair growth. Have no fear, your waxer is here!
